21-Day Daniel Fast 2024
January 8th - January 28th

The Daniel Fast is designed to better connect us with God. As a church, we will take 21 days to deepen our relationship with God through fasting certain foods and liquids. During the fast, we are focusing on what God wants to do in our personal lives as well as what He desires to do in our faith family. We are praying for spiritual awakening. We are asking God to use us to see many come to faith in Christ. We are asking God to help us do our part in making Jesus known, revered, and loved in our community and throughout the world in accordance with Matthew 28:19-20, John 14:23, and Luke 10:27.

New to fasting? Fasting when coupled with prayer, serves as a powerful vehicle to draw closer to God. Please use the Fasting Workbook, which will guide you to set fasting intentions and goals.  This is a God-designed discipline to enable you to enter a focused time of seeking the Father, His wisdom, intervention, and direction.  It is a time for the spiritual renewal of our commitment to Him, and to empty ourselves of sinful practices that limit our growth development and our effectiveness in life and ministry.

As I’ve often stated, “It’s where your heart is that matters with God.”  So, try not to get too hung up on what you should and shouldn’t eat.  Remember, the most important part of the fast is that you deny yourself physically so that you may seek the Lord in prayer and grow closer to Him. Your fast may look a little different than someone else’s, but that’s okay. Some people may need to be stricter than others in their food choices so that their fast is a sacrifice for them. These food guidelines are meant to be just that – a guide. They are given to help you create boundaries for your fast.

Lastly, though as a ministry we have determined a focus for our fast, we encourage each member to consider in their heart, what their individual focus should be in this fast. Yes, set a goal, pray, and read the word with pencil or pen in hand in an effort to draw closer to God.  Moreover, expect a revelation and a manifestation of the evidence of the transformed man or woman of God He promised you’d become (Philippians 1:6).   Transformation, though God sees your future even now, He chisels and molds into the work of art he ordained you to become.  Just know that any challenge you are facing, well, this is an excellent opportunity to trust God for His response.  Knowing that you are a masterpiece in progress and every encounter on your journey is God at work.  Wait a minute, is Detrick Haddon’s old song, “God @ Work,” encouraging me in the background of my thoughts. You can listen to it on YouTube and be encouraged as well.

The Greater Antioch Church Focus items for this Daniel Fast are:

  • Spiritual covering over our Church and each Church member

  • Healing of the Church and Community

  • Cure for COVID-19

  • Growth in spiritual wisdom and understanding

  • Revelation knowledge of the will of God for the current new year.

  • That the church will develop a culture of discipleship from the platform of every department

  • That we may make an impact on the community in a profound way with the gospel

  • Renewed Commitment

I along with First Lady Cooper ask that you daily confess the word of God over your life (e.g., “I am healed,” “I am delivered,” “I am loved,” “I am an overcomer,” “I am victorious,” “I am more than a conqueror,” “no weapon formed against me shall prosper,” etc.).  If you have concerns in your life that cause you to worry and stress, give these needs to the Lord during the fast.  Please utilize the information we have for you and embrace each opportunity through this experience and enriching journey.
